Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition.
History and Examination
Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. The test include: orthopedic tests to determine what joints are affected, neurological test to determine if the nerves are damaged, and chiropractic test to determine if chiropractic care can help you.
Your specific condition may require x-rays either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing and effective treatment plan for you. X-rays helps the doctor diagnosis more accurately your condition and determine when maximum improvement has been attained. Often X-rays help the doctor not overtreat or undertreat your condition.
Next Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, patients will generally return the following day for the Report of Findings (ROF). After the doctor has explained your condition, the recommended treatment plan, and you are in agreement your treatment will begin the same day or as soon are you are ready.
Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches.
